On Wednesday 22 February 2023, Dr Cordin Arpagaus, Senior Research Engineer, Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (OST) presented an update on the latest high-temperature heat pump technology developments and applications happening in Europe - a great preview for what we can expect in Australia and New Zealand.
Uptake of heat pumps has seen massive growth in the last year as European countries seek to decarbonise and reduce reliance on gas, for industrial processes and for residential heating needs. All the while, researchers are developing and testing technologies to increase the useful temperature range for heat pumps. What developments can we expect in the coming years? Watch this invaluable webinar to find out.

Dr Cordin Arpagaus is a process engineer and received his doctorate from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) in 2005. He also holds a master's degree in business administration from ETH Zurich. He then worked for several years in industry in management positions of Swiss companies in laboratory and process engineering. Since 2015, he has been working as a Senior Research Engineer at the Institute of Energy Systems (IES) of the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (OST). His research focuses on thermal energy systems and energy efficiency in industrial processes, particularly high-temperature heat pumps and heat pumps with turbo compressors. To date, Dr. Arpagaus has published over 50 research articles and review papers in international journals, including a book on high-temperature heat pumps, and has given numerous presentations at international conferences.
